President Bush headed to Arizona on Tuesday for a firsthand look at the raging wildfire that has burned more than 330,000 acres and displaced 30,000 people.

The president is expected to declare the fire a federal disaster, making the eastern Arizona area eligible for $20 million in emergency aid, before heading to the G8 summit in Canada.

Bush also planned to meet with firefighters and area residents and get an aerial view of the Rodeo-Chediski fire, which was about a half-mile Tuesday from the town of Show Low. Flames already have destroyed more than 340 structures, including about 200 homes.

"It's still outside the town, but it's getting close," said Navajo County sheriff's dispatcher Heather Sanchez.
